Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices known to mankind. It dates back to ancient times when the Egyptians used it for embalming purposes. It is mainly used in cooking as a spice.
Its essential oil is obtained from the bark by steam distillation. In this process, the volatile components of the bark (essential oil) are carried along with the steam. The vapor is then condensed in an essential oil separator, separating the essential oils from the hydrolate (water).
This spice has numerous properties:
- Cinnamon helps maintain normal blood sugar levels and intestinal comfort and promotes digestion
- It helps maintain normal blood lipid levels and promotes the production of HDL cholesterol (ie good cholesterol).
- It also helps keep the upper respiratory tract healthy and has significant antioxidant and stimulating properties
Our Cinnamon, Cinnamom verum, essential oil is 100% pure and natural, obtained by organic production methods. Cinnamon tree is also known as Cinnamonum zylanicum or Ceylon Cinnamon Tree. It should not be confused with Chinese cinnamon, the quality of which is not as good.
