Scientific research: Proven effectiveness against tired eyes* In Japan, a study was conducted in 2012 that evaluated the effects of blueberry on the prevention of eye fatigue in people who work in front of a screen. 88 people between the ages of 20 and 40 were selected for this study. The volunteers were divided into two groups. For eight weeks, the first group consumed one blueberry extract every day (480 mg/day), while the second group received a placebo. Flicker fusion threshold (vision constancy), accommodation point, visual acuity and other subjective signs of eye fatigue were measured.
In conclusion, blueberry supplementation appears to be beneficial in reducing screen-related eye fatigue.
